I love these updates! Wanted to let you know that our Women's Book Group (the group I've been leading for 30+ years) at Women & Children First will be discussing The Waters on March 18. I'm excited to reread it and share it with a great bunch of folks.

Well, Bonnie Jo, I’m in the nessy middle of my 2d “slender” novel. You and Heidi helped me with the 1st. I have ~50,000 words, not finished yet. I want to just skip the last 3d! Haha! We’ll see. It is hard to focus in this crazy time. But we have to and find a way to stay connected and fight in some yet unseen productive action. Lots of slender novels have been published by great authors. Why so much fuss about word count? Power and punch, complexity and compassion in all things human((I have no idea what I’m talking about!)) You’ll make it work -you always do!🍷💃🚴📕

Beautiful thoughts from a beautiful mind. Like your donkey devoured Mary Oliver, I just ate up The Waters. I'll be sure to stash a few shekels so I'm ready to plunk them down for the next one, whatever the length or fog density.

Bonnie Jo, I will read anything you write at any length. And I love your Grandpa Frank’s term for the generously proportioned! Courage and May your muse stay with you! (I would love for you to come to eastern MA for part of your next author tour!

I just signed up for your newsletter last week and I'm so glad I did. I've enjoyed your work since "American Salvage" and I'm making sure all my friends read "The Waters!" I don't know if you're interested in watching French films, but I just watched one called, "My Lover, My Donkey, and Me." It was delightful. A young woman hiking the Robert Louis Stevenson Trail in the Cévannes. And of course, she's hiking with a donkey. Patrick. You might enjoy it. By the way, Don Quixote has good taste! And PS I think I need to meet Heidi!
